Reporting Problems with Trafford
Dunham Massey Parish Council does its best to help and support its parishioners, however many issues are outside of our control and must be actioned through Trafford MBC. They can be reported through their online portal; details of how follows.
The correct routes for raising service requests and enquiries with the One Trafford Partnership.
Service requests (e.g. missed bins, fly tipping, potholes, etc.)
For all standard service requests, please use the Council’s online reporting portal: Report environmental services issues
This ensures that:
• A case reference number is generated
• Requests are logged directly into our systems
• Automatic updates are issued as the case progresses
• The enquiry is routed straight to the relevant operational team
This is the quickest and most effective way to resolve day-to-day issues.
Councillor enquiries and escalations
Where an issue requires escalation or further investigation, please contact us via the dedicated Members mailbox: traffordmembers@amey.co.uk
This allows us to:
• Log and track your enquiry appropriately
• Coordinate a full response across services
• Provide a consistent and timely update
To help us manage enquiries efficiently, we kindly ask that requests are not sent directly to individual officers or other OTP email addresses, as this can lead to delays or duplication. Please also note that this email address should not be shared with the public.

We appreciate your support in using these routes, which helps us provide a more consistent and effective service to both councillors and residents.
New Carrington Development
Trafford is entering the final stages of preparing Phase 1 of the New Carrington Masterplan Funding Mechanism and Delivery Strategy. Trafford is seeking feedback on the plan through a public consultation which has a particular focus on the Proportionate Infrastructure Contributions Schedule. You have until 11.59pm on 15 October 2025 to provide your feedback.
What is the New Carrington Masterplan?
This is one of the UK’s largest regeneration schemes, centred on Carrington in Trafford. The land comprises about 1,600-2,000 acres (Carrington Estate is circa1,665 acres) of mixed land including former industrial/petrochemical use (Shell refinery, other works), agricultural land, some greenfield and previously developed land.
The policy framework is set via Places for Everyone (PfE), the joint Greater Manchester strategic plan, which formally adopted a strategic allocation for New Carrington.

The main components that are planned include:
-
About 5,000–6,000 homes across the site
-
Large amounts of employment space, especially industrial and warehousing
-
Village hubs, local centres, amenities (shops, health uses, schools, green/open spaces)
Further details about Phase 1 and how to provide feedback is available via this link: New Carrington Masterplan Consultation
The Parish Council wanted to make residents of Dunham Massey aware of this consultation due to the close proximity of this major development project to Dunham Massey and the potential impact on the Parish.
The Parish Council were asked to contribute their thoughts on the new Carrington Road, our letter of objection can read here.
Flooding & The Bridgewater Canal
The Parish Council will continue to liaise with the relevant bodies and authorities regarding the 2025 flooding and partial collapse of the Bridgewater Canal.
The issue will appear as an item on each month's agenda for the foreseeable future and updates on progress relayed as and when available. For the latest safety guidance, please see the attached link from Greater Manchester Police.
