The Councillors

Chair - David Jolley
Semi-retired, my background is very much rooted in technology providing consultancy and programme management services in business transformation. I am also a director of a high tech drone company developing spraying systems that are focused on the green agenda. I moved to Dunham Massey in 2021 but have lived in Altrincham most of my life. No surprise then that I have a keen interest in maintaining the unique character of Dunham Massey. The state of the roads and the issue of litter on the verges are a constant bugbear for me. This is something I will strive to get improved to maintain the beauty of the area, making it safer for those living in the parish and for those just driving through.

Vice Chair - James Bushell
I have lived in Dunham Massey most of my life. We are farmers, run a fishery and I have been a Parish Councillor for 20 years. Living in such a lovely village and with a family history of being involved with village life over many years, I feel privileged to help play my part in looking after and protecting the village of Dunham Massey moving forward.

I have been part of the community in Dunham Massey for 30 years, living at Home Farm on the Dunham Estate for 18 years, and I have been a parish councillor for just over 4 of them. As a family we run a dairy herd of pedigree Shorthorns and my husband is the third generation to do so at Home Farm. We have three children who all take an active part in village life, including many Rose Queen events. The community spirit of our village means a great deal to me; we come together to support each other and have fun.

I am local to the surrounding area but have lived in Dunham Massey since 2014 and have been a member of the Parish Council since 2016. For me, it is an opportunity to be involved in the community and help support the village. I have been involved in a number of matters affecting the village such as making representations to the Trafford Local Plan and Greater Manchester’s Places for Everyone. The most challenging time was probably during the pandemic, but there have been lighter moments such as when we have helped out at the annual Rose Queen.

Having been born and raised in Dunham Massey, and residing here for the vast majority of my life, the village means a great deal to me and I shall endeavour to serve it to the best of my capabilities. As an organic farmer, it should be quite apparent that I'm keen on sustainability and environmental issues, but I'm also a big champion of small businesses, of which there are many in Dunham Massey.

Phillipa Pennington
I have lived in Dunham for 17 years, having married a local farmer, and have been on the Parish Council for 10 years. As a family we have a local business and farm in the village. I’m passionate about the village and the people that live here, and alongside my fellow Councillors am keen to support our local community and continue to ensure Dunham remains a beautiful, thriving place to live, work and visit.

Paula Lewis
I’ve lived in the local area all of my life; we moved to Dunham in 2015. I feel very lucky to be living in such beautiful surroundings with lovely, friendly, kind people. The close knit community and strong social network in Dunham is something to be treasured. After my degree, I worked in the media making films and then switched to teaching; I’ve been a Teaching Assistant for 15 years at a local school. A few of my hobbies are outdoor swimming, making films and walking with my puppy. I am excited to be joining the Parish Council team and hope to help out in the community. I look forward to meeting you in and around the village soon.
